Despite my new office only being a block from my favorite photographing grounds, I only managed to enjoy them twice this year. Here are the results.

Easter this year brought plenty of smiles all around. Watching Chloe hunt for eggs was so much fun I forgot to hunt for any myself. I cannot wait until next year when we'll have two little munchkins competing for the most eggs.

I believe the forecast was for 6-12 inches. By 11pm, we measured 8 inches ... finally a good snow, that will stick around long enough we can enjoy it with our kids, YAY (I think I am the most excited in the family).

I got to celebrate dad's birthday by taking him on a new hike in George Washington National Forest. The hike included a great ridgeline hike and some rock scrambling but also one of the most brutal ascents/descents in Virginia.

We didn't know what to expect when we introduced Chloe to her new little sister.  I'm so glad Daniel was there to capture the love on Chloe's face (AND THE KISSES TOO) when she saw the Bay-Bee!

Just before the early arrival of Quinn, Chloe demonstrated how much of a "big girl" she's become. These are simply picture perfect. Curling and brushing her hair at the vanity, playing with her five-year-old cousin and riding theJohn Deere tractor -- how fast they grow! She'll be the perfect "big sister."

The weekend before Pete and Melissa were to be married, we spent a bachelor's weekend in Washington, D.C. (in a ridiculously large hotel for next to nothing, go dad!).  The, uh, old folks did not manage to stay up quite as late, so they had the morning to wander about the National Zoo ... these are the photos that resulted.

It took a little while to figure out how to shoot a truck pull, and unfortunately both Michael and Mark and already gone by before I really knew what I was doing.

The annual Cherry Blossom festival was the busiest I'd ever seen it, and we went on a Tuesday!

Eight months prior, we chose Peter Island as our honeymoon destination, a narrow defeat over Hawai'i. In an incredible stroke of luck, we ended up with a trip to Maui not even a year into our marriage. In November, I look forward to an opportunity to visit choice #3, St. Lucia.

I was hoping to capture bald eagles eating lunch, but instead ended up with a horde of red wing blackbirds.

Our Father's Day festivities have become slightly difficult to explain to those outside of the family.  For some odd reason outsiders have trouble grasping the whole concept of blindfolding and kidnapping our father, all in the sake of his enjoyment!

Its that annual time for our parents to act as though they are kids again, complete with an Easter egg hunt.

Motivated by a travel writing class put on by National Geographic (Mair's birthday present), we headed up to DC just as an unusually heavy snow storm fell upon the nation's capital.
