As a gift two years prior, my family gave us a gift certificate for a free weekend in a Bed & Breakfast in Goshen, VA. With one child headed to Chicago to see her great grandparents for the first time, we sent the other to spend a long weekend with Gama and her favorite cousins.  First, let me say that the one day we had zero kids but still had to work was WEIRD.  We slept late yet still managed to get out the door ahead of schedule without rushing.

Anyways, so our entire weekend ended up being more than we could of hoped for. The bed & breakfast, the Hummingbird Inn was wonderful. It was the first B&B I've been to where I felt like family. Then our choice for dinner at Brix in Lexington was an incredibly good choice as it ended up being the best complete meal we've ever had. Then the entire weekend was the best change of pace ... where we felt in control of our schedule. Thank you all so much for such a wonderful gift!
